Test Automation Services UK
Test automation for UK product teams: maintainable regression on web, mobile, and API — wired into CI so a red build is discussed in UK hours, not found on Monday.
The UK automation problem
UK squads do not fail automation because they have never heard of Playwright. They fail because the suite was a contractor’s leaving present: brittle selectors, no owner, and a pipeline that has been red so long nobody looks.
Test automation services, here, means a maintainable regression suite on the journeys that actually hurt — wired into CI where you have CI — with someone who can talk through a failure during UK working hours.
The global page is test automation. Named tool pages live under frameworks. This page is the UK geo landing: same engineering bar, stated overlap, no “UK automation centre of excellence” fiction.
What we automate (and what we do not)
Good candidates: stable, repeatable, high-value flows — sign-in, checkout, permissions, the API contract your mobile app depends on.
Poor candidates: a UI that changes weekly with no test IDs, a one-off exploratory hunt, or “automate the entire ISTQB syllabus.”
We do not force one framework onto every product. We have used Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, k6, and Postman. Those pages are not partnerships or certifications.
What’s at risk without it
- Regression bugs in areas you assumed were stable
- Release days spent re-clicking the same paths
- A pipeline that is theatre: green because the tests assert the mock
- A suite nobody in the UK timezone can debug when it fails at 16:00
How we work with a UK squad
- Candidate selection — stability, repetition, business risk
- Framework choice against your stack, not our favourite blog post
- Modular scripts with reusable components
- CI integration on the builds you actually ship
- Handover so your engineers can extend the suite
Overlap is planned: a UK-hours window to walk a failure, not a 24/7 bot. See offshore QA. If you also need humans on the paths automation should not own, pair this with QA outsourcing.
What you get
- An automated suite you can run without us in the room
- CI wiring where applicable
- Failure diagnostics that name the journey, not only the line number
- Documentation for maintenance
- A written list of what stayed manual on purpose
Who this is not for
Do not buy automation from us if you want a certificate, a tool licence resale, or a promise that “everything will be automated.” Do not buy it if the product has no staging environment and no one who can give us selectors or APIs.
FAQs
Do you only use Playwright?
No. Playwright is often the right web tool. Cypress, Selenium, and Appium stay in the set when the product demands them. See frameworks.
Will our team maintain the suite?
That is the point. We hand over documentation and a structure your engineers can extend. If the suite only runs when we are on the call, the engagement failed.
Can automation include accessibility or API checks?
API checks, yes, when that is the risk. Accessibility is mostly manual with helpers — see UK accessibility testing. We will not sell a linter output as an accessibility programme.
Is this cheaper than a UK automation engineer?
Sometimes the start is faster than a hire. Cost still follows scope. There is no public UK day-rate — see pricing.
How do we start?
Book a QA consultation. Bring the repo or the CI URL, the journeys that must not break, and whether you want a suite, a person, or both.

Send the product URL and the date. We will map a UK-hours overlap and a model — or tell you to hire locally instead.
