RecBeam

RecBeam vs Loom

RecBeam is a Chrome screen recorder from Nexus Eclipse: record, upload, share a private unlisted link. Viewers do not need an account. It is a Loom alternative for that job — not a clone of Loom’s workplace suite. RecBeam is in beta.

What this page will and will not claim

RecBeam facts below come from the product itself andrecbeam.com. Loom is a well-known workplace screen recorder. We do not inventory Loom’s current plans, pricing, or every sharing toggle — those change, and we will not invent a comparison chart to win a keyword.

If you need team workspaces, a large editor, or recording outside Chrome, look at Loom (or another suite) on its own site. If you need a private link for a walkthrough or a bug report, and the viewer should not have to sign up, RecBeam is built for that path.

What RecBeam actually does

  • Record screen, a browser tab, or camera in Chrome, with microphone and tab audio
  • Upload to the cloud (Cloudflare R2; basic details in Cloudflare D1)
  • Share a private, unlisted link — not listed or indexed
  • Anyone with the exact link can watch; no RecBeam account required to view
  • Sign in with Google to record and upload — no new RecBeam password

Links are not password-protected. Treat a share link like any private but unencrypted URL. RecBeam does not sell personal information. Recordings and accounts can be deleted on request. Pricing has not been finalized.

Where RecBeam is the narrower tool

RecBeam is Chrome-first and in beta. It is not a full workplace platform. We do not claim feature parity with Loom on mobile apps, team libraries, editing suites, or admin controls. “Loom alternative” here means an alternative job: record in the browser, share a quiet link, get out of the way.

Who should open RecBeam first

People sending a bug walkthrough, a short explanation, or a private demo link who want the viewer to click once and watch. QA teams already usingbug reports often need exactly that artefact.

Teams standardised on Loom should not migrate for a slogan. Try RecBeam if the Chrome + unlisted-link path is the actual need.
